Make a difference. For you. For charity.

There are nearly one million trustees in the UK, doing incredible work across the charity sector.
This Trustees’ Week, take a moment to explore how becoming a trustee can offer a unique way to bring your passions to life and use your talents to make a difference to a cause you care about.

Trustees are volunteers who play an essential role leading and governing charities, and who work as a team to make effective decisions. You don’t have to be in paid work or have years of previous experience to be a trustee. Good people skills and great teamwork are just as important as technical knowledge or professional expertise. There’s plenty of help available, from the Charity Commission and many other support organisations.

In England and Wales alone, there are over 180,000 charities, and many need more trustees – people of all ages from 16+ , backgrounds and skills. Being a trustee requires a regular time commitment, but this is usually manageable. For example, meetings may be held online (on Zoom or Teams, for example) and you can claim reasonable expenses.
